Can silence be expressed with music? Can it by written down with notes, conveyed with a subtle pianissimo or the clashing of bells? The omnipresent silence at the Friday concert was special, because it was the leading element of each piece, all of which touched in their own way the substance of pain and loss – from the short canon in memory of Benjamin Britten to the complex and extremely emotional "Lamentate". This is how Iwona Granacka, participant of the workshops on music criticism with Meakultura, describes last night's concert, which left us hungry for this today evening's events. See the photos of how Bartek Wąsik and the l'Autunno Chamber Orchestra conducted by Adam Banaszak performed the pieces of the Estonian composer.
